On the afternoon of 25th January, I photographed the chemical/oil products tanker CITRUS passing Cowes from an Isle of Wight ferry, shortly before sailing for Southampton. After sailing from East Cowes,
our ferry passed astern of the draught restricted tanker, which promptly turned to starboard as she rounded the Bramble Bank. As we set a more direct course across the Solent, I was able to take pictures of the vessel from just about
every angle as she continued turning and followed us up Southampton Water past Calshot Spit. The last four images show her approaching her berth at the Fawley oil jetty, where tugs APEX and
PHENIX assisted her alongside.
